I’ve had two special projects in the works that I haven’t been able to talk about just yet. Well, Publishers Marketplace announced one of them today, so now I can finally tell you all about it. Thanks to my fantastic agents Andrea Hurst and Lydia Caudill, Aethon will be publishing a brand new series of mine late next year, Neon Meridian.

The concept came from a simple seed: what would Daniel Faust and Harmony Black’s world look like, projected into the future?

It all began with the Battle of Broadway, an incident captured on live television that exposed the truth of magic to the entire world. (What was the battle, and who caused it? You’ll find out, eventually.) Flash-forward fifty years later, and society has been utterly transformed by the truth. Corporations battle using magical espionage, the Courts of Hell have embassies in Washington DC, Late Night Succubus House Party is the most popular show on TV, and magical gene-twisting can transform your body in any way you desire…if you’ve got the cash.

Emily Yeats is a professional witch with a Bachelors of Occult Science from CUNY and a run-down office on the wrong side of Brooklyn. With the aid of her pact-bound spirits and a found family of misfits and rogues, she stages elaborate burglaries to test and improve her clients’ security systems. She stays on the right side of the law, and she likes it that way. But when she finds herself trapped between a ruthless television executive and the psychopathic owner of a celebrity tabloid, enmeshed in a scandal that could bring down an entire mayoral administration, Emily and her crew have no choice but to pull off the biggest heist of their careers — for real, this time.

Working on this series has been so much fun, a chance to take a look at the world of the Faust/Harmony books and figure out how it would change when the secrets of the occult underground got out of the bag once and for all, from the upper echelons of politics and power to everyday life on the street. There’s so much more I want to tell you, but…well, spoilers. You’ll hear more as we get closer to next Fall and the release of the debut installment. Talk to you soon!
